How I started
Baking is a fantastic way to be creative. As a stay at home mother of 4 girls, I have created a lot of cakes over the years. I have baked my fair share of Dora, Power Puff girls, Hello Kitty and princess themed cakes. The only thing that stayed consistant was the fact that I only baked for my family.
That was until I met the children at the Servants of All orphanage in Grand Goave, Haiti in June of 2012.
I had no idea that a mission trip would change my life in so many ways. The children grabbed a hold of my heart and life has not been the same since.
The opportunity to return to Haiti in June of 2013 sparked an idea .... why not bake my cakes and cupcakes for other people in exchange for donations towards the cost of the mission trip? Thus, the Cakes For Haiti fundraiser was born. It was through the fundraising process that I realized how much I loved seeing the smiles on peoples faces when I delivered their special, homemade treats.
Those smiles and the encouragement from my family and friends has led me to this new journey in my life and the creation of Sweet Treats by Tina.
As I embark on this adventure of starting my own business, I am grateful to be able to stay at home and raise my children while doing something I love to do. I look forward to creating a unique cake for that someone special in your life, all the while being able to fund future mission trips.
